Populus provides consulting in sustainable building design, in particular implementing residential programs that engage customers to make investments in energy efficiency. CleaResult designs and implements energy-efficiency programs for utilities, governments, schools and businesses.
Officials for neither company could be reached Tuesday. A press release from CleaResult said Populus services will now be offered as part of the CleaResult brand.
The announcement also stated that Populus would “retain offices and teams in the greater Boulder area.” Populus is based at 1722 14th St. in Boulder.
“The addition of Populus to CleaResult allows us to offer our clients an innovative, high-touch approach that successfully guides utility customers along their energy efficiency journeys,” CleaResult’s chairman and chief executive Glenn Garland said in a statement.
Populus, founded in 2006, found quick success. Last year, the company was No. 1 on BizWest’s Boulder Valley Mercury 100 list of fastest-growing companies with revenue of $2 million or more. Populus went from revenue of $397,570 in 2010 to $3 million in 2012, an increase of 663 percent.
