Symposium to focus on workforce development

FORT COLLINS – BizWest Media LLC has joined forces with the Larimer County Workforce Center to present a daylong event delving into workforce issues in Northern Colorado.

The Larimer County Workforce Symposium will take place Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Embassy Suites Hotel & Conference Center in Loveland, in conjunction with the Bixpo B2B Expo.

The Symposium will include keynote presentations, panel discussions and dozens of “BixTalks,” during which experts from business, nonprofits and consulting companies will describe their own best practices in workforce development.

Topics will include a presentation from the Colorado Demographers Office on the latest population and demographic data in Northern Colorado and the state overall, with predictions for what the workforce will look like in the coming decades. Additionally, attendees will hear about the latest Larimer County Employment Study from the city of Fort Collins.

Other content will focus on filling skills gaps, recruitment challenges, retention and readjustment, and leadership development.
