Stonebridge pays $4.35M for site of planned Boulder Residence Inn

BOULDER – Centennial-based Stonebridge Cos., closed recently on the $4.35 million purchase of 1.65 acres of land at 26th Street and Canyon Boulevard in Boulder where the company plans to build a 155-room Residence Inn hotel.

An official for Stonebridge — a large hotel-development and hospitality-management firm with a portfolio that includes a Hampton Inn in Louisville and Residence Inn in Loveland — could not be reached for comment Friday.

Stonebridge had been under contract to purchase the property from Denver-based Gart Properties, which owns the surrounding Village Shopping Center, since 2013 when Stonebridge first filed formal site review plans.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

The latest version of the hotel, which will sit at the southwest corner of 26th and Canyon, is downsized slightly from the originally proposed 171-room version.

According to technical documents filed with the city in May, the hotel will include nearly 109,000 square feet on four floors in addition to a 106-space underground parking garage.

When it’s built, the Residence Inn will become what is becoming a cluster of hotels near the busy intersection of 28th Street and Canyon Boulevard. Denver-based developer NAI Shames Makovsky is currently building a 203-room Embassy Suites and a 172-room Hilton Garden Inn on the north side of Canyon between 26th and 28th streets on the former site of the Golden Buff hotel and Eads Newsstand. The three new hotels will join the Marriott hotel already located at 2660 Canyon.
