Sports Authority, other tenants sign on for Village at the Peaks

LONGMONT – Sporting goods retailer Sports Authority, Wyatt’s Wine & Spirits and The Melt have joined the tenant lineup at the new Village at the Peaks shopping district in Longmont.

Village at the Peaks, set to open fall 2015, is being developed by Fort Collins-based NewMark Merrill Mountain States on the site of the former Twin Peaks Mall at 1250 S. Hover St.

NewMark Merrill has signed 11 retailers leasing 333,350 square feet of space, with another 43,520 square feet of space under negotiation, according to a NewMark Merrill statement released Wednesday.

Englewood-based Sports Authority’s store will occupy 32,280 square feet. It currently has a store near the new site at 2215 Ken Pratt Blvd. in the Village at Burlington shopping center. It has 475 stores in 43 states and Puerto Rico.
A Sports Authority spokesperson could not be reached Wednesday for information about what the company’s plans are for the store on Ken Pratt Boulevard.

Wyatt’s Wine & Spirits will occupy 24,000 square feet.

The Melt is a prominent West Coast eatery opening one of its first Colorado locations at Village at the Peaks. It is taking 1,990 square feet.

NewMark Merrill broke ground on the $85 million, 480,000-square-foot project Aug. 1. It purchased the property in early 2012 and has been working with the city of Longmont in a public-private partnership to redevelop the shopping district.

Previously announced tenants include Sam’s Club, Regal Cinema, Whole Foods Market, Gold’s Gym, Parry’s Pizza, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, Verizon Wireless and Pacific Dental.
