Service aims to aid Broomfield charities

BROOMFIELD – The Broomfield Chamber of Commerce and the Broomfield Business Resource Center have launched Chamber for Good, a service for nonprofit organizations to help them with financial, volunteer and item needs.

The service is designed to help local charities raise their visibility within the community and provide businesses and philanthropic individuals with information about a charity.

“This tool allows us to harness the goodness of our residents and businesses and really strengthen our community in a way that we haven’t been able to before,´ said Jennifer Kerr, president and chief executive of Broomfield’s chamber.

Empowering communities

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

Mike Saunders, executive director of the Broomfield Business Resource Center, said many of the noblest causes operate seemingly in the shadows with little or no public awareness.

“Through the BRC, we are developing a Strategic Philanthropy initiative,” Saunders said. “This will bring Broomfield businesses in touch with a strategy to increase their own business while helping local Broomfield charities and nonprofits.”

To sign up for more information, go online at www.BroomfieldChamberForGood.com and enter an email address to receive weekly updates on needs that exist among charitable organizations in Broomfield.

Charities interested in having their profile on the website can click on Add My Charity at the top of the page. Once approved, they will be notified by email and can begin posting needs.

Businesses interested in partnering with the chamber and sponsoring the Broomfield Chamber for Good website should contact Saunders at 303-466-1775, extension 6.
