September home sales down in Boulder, Larimer, Weld

The number of homes and condominiums sold in Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties were down in September compared with August, according to a report released Thursday by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

The number of sales in Boulder County declined from 466 to 378, an 18.9 percent drop, while sales in Weld and Larimer counties declined from 1,282 to 1,083, a 15.5 percent drop. The report did not breakout those two counties.

For the first nine months of the year, sales in Boulder County were down 8.1 percent, from 3,872 last year to 3,557, but were up 2 percent for the year in Larimer and Weld, from 8,745 last year to 8,919.

The number of homes on the market in September compared with August declined in all three counties. In Boulder County that number dropped from 1,426 to 1,314, and in Larimer and Weld counties, it dropped from 3,774 homes to 3,554.

Median sale price in Boulder County held steady from August to September at $352,000. A year ago, the median price was $330,000, In Weld and Larimer counties, median sale price increased from $245,000 to $250,000. A year ago, the median price was $237,000.
