U.S. Rep. Jared Polis will officially launch his campaign for Colorado’s new 2nd Congressional District with events Sunday in Fort Collins and Monday evening in Boulder.
The theme of the Democrat’s campaign: “Moving Colorado Forward Together.”
“From Boulder to Breckenridge, Lyons to Loveland, and in cities and towns in between, this campaign will open a dialogue with Coloradans about solutions that will create jobs, improve our schools, fix our roads and bridges, reform our broken immigration system, and restore the ideal that we should build ladders of opportunity that will allow every one of us to realize our own version of the American Dream,” Polis said in a statement.
“That’s a discussion worthy of the voters of the 2nd Congressional District and that’s the kind of campaign I hope Coloradans will join.”
The event Sunday in Fort Collins is planned for 3 p.m. at Odell Brewing Co., 800 East Lincoln Ave.
Two Republicans, Berthoud-area state Sen. Kevin Lundberg, and Boulder businessman Eric Weissmann, are seeking the GOP nomination to be their party’s candidate to challenge Polis in November’s general election.
