Pioneer Engineering moves R&D to CSU’s Energy Campus

FORT COLLINS – Pioneer Engineering Co. announced on Wednesday that it has moved its research and development division to Colorado State University’s Powerhouse Energy Campus as the company gears up for significant growth.

Pioneer, founded in 2001 by president Mitch Stansloski, helps large manufacturing companies with diagnostics and monitoring of its equipment. By collecting vibration data from the equipment, Pioneer can identify possible problems as they’re developing to increase reliability and reduce downtime. The company also conducts training on predictive and preventative maintenance.

Pioneer, which does nearly $1.5 million in annual revenue, has 10 employees and is based at 912 Smithfield Dr. in Fort Collins.

Director of marketing and sales Jessica Dieken said the company’s two main research and development engineers have moved to Powerhouse, but the company has room for up to 10 people in the space it is renting there as Pioneer grows. Dieken said the company expects to add three new employees this year.

The R&D move to Powerhouse will give Pioneer access to CSU’s state of the art turbomachinery equipment and enable greater collaboration with CSU faculty and students.

“Moving our research and development engineers into Colorado State University’s Powerhouse campus enables us to connect directly with their newly formed Rotordynamics and Vibrations Laboratory, which means our path for innovation just got that much clearer,” Stansloski said in a release.
