More panelists added to BizWest’s Energy Summit on July 20

LOVELAND — An attorney and a Weld County commission candidate have been added to BizWest’s Energy Summit, which has lured experts from industry, government and academia to discuss issues and trends in the energy sector.

The July 20 event, titled “Drilling Down: The Economic Impact of Declining Energy Prices,” will include panels that will offer an economic report card for Northern Colorado, analyze emerging mergers and acquisitions, look at transload facilities in the region and debate implications of public policy.

Keith Sambur, a partner at the Denver office of Dallas-based Haynes and Boone LLP, will join Bernadette Johnson, managing partner and director of research and analytics for Ponderosa Advisors, and James Henderson, chief financial officer at Synergy Resources, to offer tips on how to pursue a deal if you are seeking a merger partner, selling a business or acquiring other assets.

Amanda Harper, a candidate for a seat on the Weld County Board of Commissioners, will join current Weld commissioner Mike Freeman; Colorado Oil and Gas Association CEO Dan Haley; Richard C. Kaufman, of counsel at Ryley, Carlock & Appelwhite; and Kathleen Staks, assistant director for energy at the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, as they give their views about how current ballot measures, Supreme Court rulings, local legal issues, land-use regulations and public opinion will influence energy company production and policies.

Brian Lewandowski, associate director of the business research division at the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business, and John Harpole, president of Mercator Energy, will examine Northern Colorado data on jobs, production and commodity trends.

Adam Bedard, chief executive of ARB Midstream; Tim Eklund, vice president for transload and logistics at OmniTRAX and president of OmniTRAX Logistics Services; Chris Gall, vice president for global supply chain and manufacturing at Calfrac Well Services Ltd.; and Bud Mushlitz, president of rail services and facilities at Omaha Track, will provide insights about the expanding network of transload facilities, including what’s here and what’s coming.

The event will be held from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at the First National Bank Exhibition Hall at The Ranch Event Complex, 5280 Arena Circle in Loveland. Tickets will be on sale online at http://events.bizwest.com/events/northern-colorado-energy-summit/#tickets for $19.99 until Wednesday, then $24.99 until July 18.
