OtterBox tops BizWest’s Mercury 100 list

FORT COLLINS – Mobile-case manufacturer OtterBox Inc. took the top spot on BizWest’s Mercury 100 list, a ranking of the fastest-growing companies in Larimer and Weld counties.

OtterBox, based in Fort Collins, reported a 164 percent increase in revenue over two years in the category ranking companies with more than $20 million in annual revenue.

The company had $923 million in 2013 revenue compared with $350 million in 2011. OtterBox employs about 750 people.

BizWest compiled a list of 100 companies separated into five flights of 20 companies, with each flight representing a different range of annual revenue. The companies were recognized at an annual awards ceremony Tuesday night at the Windsong Estate Events Center in Severance, east of Fort Collins.

Madwire Media, a Loveland internet marketing company, ranked No. 1 of companies with 2013 revenue between $7.1 million and $20 million. Madwire’s revenue surged 214 percent from $4 million to $13 million during a two-year period. Madwire has 175 employees.

Savant Homes Inc. of Fort Collins came in first among companies with revenue between $3.2 million and $7 million. Revenue of the construction company grew to $6.5 million from $2.2 million, a 191 percent increase. Savant employs 10 people.

Aggie Plumbing and Service took the top spot of companies with revenue between $1.4 million and $3.1 million. Its revenue grew 357 percent, from $360,000 to $1.6 million. The company has 9 employees.

In the category of companies with annual revenue of $1.3 million or less, Huston Graphics and Printing placed No. 1. The company’s revenue increased 176 percent from $435,000 to $1.2 million.
