ACADEMICS

UNC’s Monfort College of Business has appointed Gene O’Hara as the new director of the Monfort Executive Professor Program. O’Hara spent four years as the CEO of North Colorado Medical Center and is a long-time supporter of the university. He is also a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council at MCB and serves on the boards of several other Northern Colorado groups. O’Hara will be responsible for recruiting regional and national speakers, as well as executive professors for the college.

CSU’s Career Center has named Jeremy Podany the new director. Podany has experience in employer relationships, recruiting partnerships and career counseling. He previously served as director of career services for Indiana University’s School of Informatics and Computing. Podany has worked in higher education for more than 12 years, most of which has been in career services.

ACCOUNTING

Fort Collins’ Sample & Bailey CPAs announced that Francine Cooper has achieved her Certified Public Accountant designation. Cooper earned her bachelor’s in business administration in 2008 and joined Sample & Bailey the same year. Currently, Cooper is senior accountant within the audit group. She holds memberships in both the American Society of Women Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

CONSTRUCTION

Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity announced its most recent hire, Mark Scott, as construction manager for the local affiliate. Scott, who has 22 years of experience with various Habitat for Humanity projects and affiliates and more than 29 years of experience in the construction industry, will began his new role with Habitat for Humanity in August.

FINANCE

Kelly Hopkins, Corey Lorenz and Danielle Lehrkamp have joined Cornerstone Mortgage Company’s team at its Fort Collins office. Hopkins has a background in the insurance and will work as a production partner for Cornerstone. She graduated from CSU and lives in Loveland. Lorenz has a degree in finance from Metro State College of Denver and will work as a loan officer. Lehrkamp, who joined as a mortgage coordinator, has a background in portfolio management and earned degrees in finance and economics from UNC.

DataTraks, an international provider of engineering and software solutions for companies in the railroad, manufacturing and mining industries, announced the hiring of Kathryn Moore, a CSU graduate, as a development engineer. Moore has a degree in applied computing technology, and software development experience with Global Financial Review and TennisSource.net.

HEALTH CARE

Banner Health Clinic announced the addition of three new doctors to its Greeley location. Dr. Philip Garza, who joined the clinic in August, focuses on all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology including gynocologic laparoscopic surgery, endoscopic surgery and urogynecology. Garza speaks both English and Spanish. Dr. Daniele Doro focuses on care for adults with an emphasis in preventive health care. She previously worked for the Indian Health Board of Minneapolis, the Midwest Health Center for Women and Fairview Crosstown Clinic in Minnesota. Dr. Corinn Sadler, who will see patients in both Greeley and Loveland, specializes in endocrinology. She received her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, N.M., where she also completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology.

Respite Care Inc., a Fort Collins nonprofit agency that provides short-term care for children with developmental disabilities, announced Sandra Lundt as its new president for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. Lundt is a Fort Collins native and retired principal of Poudre High School. She has also served as a board member. New board members include Annah Schnaitter, psychotherapist, Jen Houska with Houska Automotive and Cliff Buchholz with Miramont Lifestyle Fitness. Respite also announced the hiring of Heather Matz as development director. Matz has 12 years of sales and marketing experience and most recently worked as a realtor with The Group Inc.

Kaiser Permanente Colorado has announced that three local physicians have joined its Loveland medical office, scheduled to open in October. Dr. Michelle Ward will serve as the pediatrician, offering care for children from birth to age 18. Dr. Jamison Bohl will serve as the family medicine physician, offering continuing, comprehensive health care for individuals and families. Dr. Rachel Feldman will serve as the internal medicine physician, offering care focused on the prevention and treatment of complex adult diseases and treatment of the elderly.

Dr. Gregory Hughes has joined the Colorado Health Medical Group as part of its Northern Colorado expansion. Hughes, an endocrinologist, will see patients at both Greeley Medical Clinic and Medical Clinic at Centerra in Loveland. Hughes received his medical degree in 1986 at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., and completed his residency and fellowship in internal medicine at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. He also completed a fellowship in endocrinology diabetes and metabolism at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora.

Northern Colorado’s Foundations Counseling LLC announced the addition of Dr. Arnie Guin, a counselor with more than 25 years of experience. Guin earned his doctorate from Newburgh Theological Seminary, holds a master’s degree from Western Seminary and a bachelor’s degree from Puget Sound Christian College.

INSURANCE

Doug Wills and Michael Todd Sherman were named members of the 2012 President’s Council with New York Life Insurance Company. Members of the President’s Council are among the most successful of New York Life’s sales force. Wills has been a New York Life agent since 1994 and Sherman since 2001. Both are associated with the company’s general Arvada office.
