ACADEMICS

The Institute of Business and Medical Careers, a local training institution, promoted Melissa Whitten to regional director of the career services department for all area IBMC campuses in Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont and Cheyenne, Wyo. Whitten has more than seven years of customer service and professional career development experience. She has worked for IBMC in the roles of associate director of career services, externship coordinator and career services assistant for the last six years. IBMC also announced the hiring of Jill Cherubin and Heather Gaglio as career services coordinators at the Fort Collins campus. The two will partner with local employers to place students into externships and graduates in career positions.

ACCOUNTING

Bartels & Co. LLC Certified Public Accountants of Greeley announced that Rick Abundis joined the firm as a tax accountant. Abundis graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2008 and is a CPA candidate. He has four years of public accounting experience preparing individual and business income tax returns.

FINANCE

Patrick Varney has been named as one of Bank Investment Consultant Magazine’s Top 50 Bank Advisors for 2012, making this the second time he has been recognized on this list. Varney is a Raymond James financial advisor located at Bank of Colorado in Windsor, and is affiliated with the Financial Institutions Division of Raymond James Financial Services Inc. The magazine evaluated the honorees on assets under management, production, asset growth, percentage of fee business, growth in production and production-per-assets.

HEALTH CARE

Banner Health announced three new practitioners: Dr. Phillip Rhoads will see patients at three Loveland locations, and specializes in internal medicine and pediatrics. He completed medical school at the University of Arkansas and speaks both English and Spanish. Dr. Jessica Guiroy will practice in Fort Collins and specializes in family practice. She received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota. Azure Zeigler, a family nurse practitioner, will see patients at Banner Health Center in Loveland. She emphasizes wellness, prevention and chronic disease management to help ensure lifelong health.

LAW

Otis, Coan & Peters LLC announced the addition of attorney Jenna H. Keller to the firm. Keller has been practicing law in the real estate and natural resources areas since 2006. Keller has experience in assisting land and mineral owners with oil and gas rights and development issues, water rights and water court applications, estate planning and probate matters.

MISCELLANEOUS

Employment Solutions, a Colorado staffing agency with offices in Fort Collins, Greeley, Longmont and Denver, announced that Sarah DeBuse Nelson has been promoted to recruiting manager. Nelson manages the recruiting team and oversees recruiting efforts in the Fort Collins region. Additionally, Crystal DeNoncourt has been promoted to recruiting manager for the Greeley region and Rory Geisler was promoted to vice president of operations. He manages business operations, recruiting operations, customer service programs and recruiting staff.

Northern Colorado Clean Cities announced the addition of Maria Eisemann as a coalition co-coordinator. Eisemann will share coordinator duties with existing coordinator, Sheble McConnellogue. Eisemann has a B.S. in industrial technology from CSU and worked for seven years at the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. Before and after working at the EPA she worked for the National Center for Vehicle Emissions Control and Safety at CSU and helped to organize the annual National Mobile Sources Clean Air Conference.
