Boulder-based Catapult PR-IR, a public and investor relations firm for technology companies, promoted Jeremy Douglas to account executive. Douglas started with the company three years ago and has filled various roles, most recently working as a junior account executive. Along with acquiring more responsibility, Douglas will work with the rest of the Catapult team to execute strategic programs that benefit its clientele. Douglas graduated from Fort Lewis College with a dual degree in economics and business Administration with a focus in finance.

The credit union also named Jack Burtzlaff Boulder market community manager; Clint Jones as Lafayette/Broomfield manager; and Ron Pino northern community manager.

CONSTRUCTION

Longmont-based Golden Triangle Construction Inc. hired Lacey Reckelhoff as marketing coordinator. Reckelhoff has eight years experience in marketing for the architecture, engineering and construction industries. Most recently she was the marketing director for an architectural firm in Fort Collins. Lacey’s primary responsibilities include proposal development and leading the firm’s communications and public relations initiatives.

EDUCATION

Ryan Chreist was named assistant vice chancellor for alumni relations for the University of Colorado-Boulder. The assistant vice chancellor for alumni relations serves as executive director of the CU-Boulder alumni association and manages the campus’ relationship with its more than 300,000 alumni through the Forever Buffs initiative. Chreist previously was the director of recruitment, operations and system integration for the CU-Boulder Office of Admissions. Chreist will oversee an alumni staff of 25 and lead all alumni operations, communications and events planning.

GOVERNMENT

Brad Power, director of the city of Longmont’s Economic Development Department, has been elected as a trustee of the Urban Land Institute. The institute is a nonprofit education and research organization that provides leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining communities across the globe. Established in 1936, the institute has nearly 30,000 members worldwide representing all aspects of land-use and development disciplines.

INSURANCE

Marguerite Salazar was appointed Colorado’s commissioner of insurance, replacing Jim Riesberg, who recently resigned. Salazar’s first day will be Aug. 19. Salazar will oversee the regulation of the insurance industry in Colorado. Salazar most recently worked for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where she was the Region VIII director since May 2010. Salazar served more than 20 years as president and chief executive of Valley-Wide Health Systems in Alamosa, a rural community health-system serving more than 45,000 Coloradans through 22 primary-care and dental clinics.

MANUFACTURING

Boulder-based Product Architects Inc., the maker of Polar Bottle insulated sport bottles, promoted Rachel Rangel, who started at Polar Bottle in March 2012, and Michael Xiong, who has been with the company since 2007, to production supervisors. The company hired Caitlin Mallory as a sales associate, focusing primarily on working with existing bike shop customers. Mallory joined the outdoor industry in 2009, first as a sales associate at Sun and Ski Sports in Houston, Texas and later as a merchandising manager for Hudson Trail Outfitters in Washington D.C.

NONPROFIT

Bruce Nelson, president of Boulder-based Vertical Solutions, joined Healthy Learning Path’s board of directors. Healthy Learning Paths teaches children wellness strategies for success in health, learning and life.

RETAIL

The Cigarette Store Corp. in Boulder hired Ken Kramer as general counsel and vice president of administration. As a shareholder of Berenbaum Weinshienk PC, Kramer was Cigarette Store’s outside legal counsel for the past 20 years.

SERVICES

Benjamin West, a purchasing firm for furniture, fixtures and equipment and operating supplies and equipment for the hotel industry, hired Catherine Black as vice president of business development. She will be responsible for further expanding the international firm’s hospitality client base. Prior to joining Benjamin West, Black was director of business development – hospitality for Shawmut Design & Construction and president and CEO of In the Black, an international consulting firm specializing in hospitality and entertainment markets.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Boulder-based telecom Zayo Group elected Don Gips and Stephanie Comfort to its board of directors. Gips is a senior director at the Albright Stonebrdige Group and the chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-South Africa Business Council. Gips served as the United States Ambassador to South Africa from 2009 to January 2013. Comfort is an advisory partner with Denver-based Genesis Inc. Prior to that, she was the executive vice president of corporate strategy and development at Century Link.
