BBVA Compass announced that Donika Schnell has been appointed to regional industry specialist in its healthcare group for commercial banking focusing on California, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. Based in Palm Desert, Schnell will direct the strategic planning and overall growth of the BBVA Compass Commercial Banking healthcare segment, including the origination, growth and management of loan and deposit portfolios as well as the generation of non-interest income.

Cynthia Catherman has joined Wells Fargo as senior business relationship manager based in Loveland. Catherman has more than 20 years of experience in financial services, particularly in business lending.  Most recently she worked for a regional financial institution in the Northeast, where she primarily served commercial real estate and commercial and industrial clients. 


Banner Health added pediatricians Amanda Harding and James Sando, who will see patients in the new Banner Health Clinic-Pediatrics. Clinic services include well-child services, immunizations, same-day sick appointments, hearing and vision screenings, and developmental screenings. The clinic is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and is located at 6801 W. 20th St., Suite 201 in Greeley.

Dana Clark of the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies has achieved board certification in orthopaedics. The exam consisted of an intensive interview and review of patients’ surgery results. Clark joined the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies in 2009 as a specialist caring for patients with knee or hip pain who need joint replacement surgery.

Life Care Centers of America honored Dan Gauger, executive director at Life Care Center of Greeley, with its Mountain States Division President’s Award. Gauger received one of two President’s Awards for the Mountain States Division, presented for distinguished service in the long-term health care management role. Executive director since the building opened in 1998, Gauger was praised for his calm and professionalism, his caring for his patients and associates and his mentoring of other administrators in the company.

Missy Jensen, nurse practitioner with the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado at North Colorado Medical Center and McKee Medical Center, has been named a Certified Heart Failure nurse by the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses. Jensen’s designation as a Certified Heart Failure Nurse establishes she is knowledgeable and well qualified to provide specialized care to the patients she serves through the CardioVascular Institute. Jensen is one of three nurses in the state of Colorado to obtain this designation.


Grubb & Ellis Landauer Valuation Advisory Services is open for business in Fort Collins. Joel Cuthbert, senior appraiser, will staff the office. Cuthbert most recently spent five years as a senior appraiser with Rocky Mountain Appraisal Network, where he represented regional and national lending institutions, special servicers and various private entities.  He began his career in 2001.  

John D. Valencia, a real estate agent at Sears Real Estate, received his 25 years of service pin at the Greeley Area Realtor Association Installation Breakfast in September. Valencia has served the Greeley and Northern Colorado community for the last 25 years.


Loretta Jones, professor emerita of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Northern Colorado, will receive the Achievement in Research for the Teaching and Learning of Chemistry award from the American Chemistry Society in March in San Diego. Jones will be honored during a private campus reception this month. At UNC, Jones has secured more than $7 million in grants and worked to build and sustain the doctoral program in Chemistry Education.


Kay L. Collins joined real estate and business law firm Otis, Coan & Peters LLC as a senior associate. Collins’ practice is focused on intellectual property law. In particular, she practices in the areas of trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, unfair competition and Internet law. She helps clients identify, create, protect and enforce these intangible assets and maximize the return on investment in their intellectual property.


Debbie Baxter and sister Carole Dunlap are the new owners of the HoneyBaked Ham Co. of Fort Collins and Greeley. The HoneyBaked Ham location at 3766 W. 10th St., Suite B in Greeley was scheduled to reopen this month.
