Olszowy named CTO at ViroCyt

BOULDER – Life-science startup ViroCyt LLC announced on Wednesday that Michael Olszowy has been named chief technology officer.

ViroCyt develops instrumentation and reagents that allow for the quantification of virus particles in a given sample in just minutes.

The company was founded in early 2013 as a spinoff of Boulder-based InDevR Inc., and was originally based in Denver before moving to Boulder in November.

Olszowy, who has a doctorate in experimental pathology, comes to ViroCyt from Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he was instrumental in the launch of the Attune acoustic focusing cytometer. At ViroCyt, he will lead the company’s efforts to evolve its Virus Counter technology.

“Dr. Olszowy brings to ViroCyt an outstanding record of development of innovative products in the bioscience field,” ViroCyt chief executive Robert Kline said in a release.
