Oil field worker killed, two others injured
MEAD – An oil and gas worker died Thursday morning when a pipe burst at an Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: APC) oil well site in Weld County near Mead, said Sgt. Sean Standridge of the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.
A crew was trying to thaw a frozen pipe when it ruptured and burst, killing one person and injuring two other workers about 9:30 a.m. near Colorado 66 and Weld County Road 9 1/2.
Halliburton Co. (NYSE: HAL) workers were at the well site during the incident, Standridge said. Neither the name of the worker killed nor the names of the workers injured were released.

One of the workers injured in the incident was taken to Denver Health in a helicopter. The other worker was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland in an ambulance.
The workers’ injuries were serious, though not life-threatening, Standridge said.
