Number of home sales, prices increasing in Weld, Larimer, Boulder counties

The number of homes sold in Weld, Larimer and Boulder counties along with their selling price increased in March, according to a report released Thursday.

According to the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Report, 998 condominiums and single-family home were sold in Weld and Larimer counties in March, a 49 percent increase compared with the 670 that were sold in February and a 19 percent increase compared with the 840 that were sold in March of last year.

The average price of homes sold in the two counties during March was $298,000, up from $297,000 in February, and up from $260,000 in March of last year.

Inventory in the two counties in Northern Colorado was up 3.7 percent in March compared with the same month a year ago, from 2,880 to 2,987. Inventory was up 4.7 percent compared with February, increasing from 2,880.

Homes were selling faster in March. Days on the market dropped to 43 compared with 51 days in February and 54 days in March of last year.

In Boulder County, 405 condominiums and single-family homes were sold in March, a 55.2 percent increase compared with 261 sold in February and a 31.5 percent increase compared with the 308 sold in March of last year.

The average price of homes sold in Boulder County during March was $553,000, up from $482,000 in February and $486,000 in March of last year.

The 875 homes on the market during March in Boulder County was an increase of 6.1 percent compared with the 825 homes on the market in February, but was down 17.1 percent from the 1,055 that were available in March of last year. Days on the market was up to 43, compared with 40 days in February, but was down from the 53 days it took a home to sell in March of last year.
