GRANTS

Omaha, Neb.-based First National Bank has awarded a total of $360,000 in community development grants several organizations in Northern Colorado and the Boulder Valley that were among 28 groups in Colorado, Nebraska, Illinois, Kansas and South Dakota. The grants will support affordable-housing, educated-workforce and economic-development programs. In Colorado, First National Bank awarded $100,000 in community-development grants to nine organizations. Fort Collins-based technology incubator Rocky Mountain Innosphere received a $40,000 economic-development grant. Fort Collins Habitat for Humanity and Broomfield-based Flatirons Habitat for Humanity received affordable-housing grants of $10,000 and $5,000 respectively. All four grants supporting educated-workforce initiatives went to groups in the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado, and will enable 2,581 individuals to move closer to self-sufficiency. Boulder-based I Have a Dream received $10,000, while the Greeley Dream Team, the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County and the Boys and Girls Club of Weld County received $5,000 each.

The Pharos Fund, administered by the Fort Collins-based Bohemian Foundation, is accepting applications for the fall 2016 grant round. Applicants must be either a 501(c)(3) organization or a governmental unit serving a charitable purpose. Private foundations, type III non-functionally-integrated supporting organizations, and programs and projects under fiscal sponsorship are ineligible to apply to Pharos Fund. Applicants must provide services within the Poudre School District boundary. Applicants don’t need to be headquartered in Fort Collins to receive funding, but they must serve clients within PSD or have a direct impact on individuals in Pharos’ grantmaking area. Bohemian will accept applications until 11:59 p.m. Sept. 8 at bohemianfoundation.org/pharos-apply.
