GREELEY — UNC’s Monfort College of Business has announced the competition schedule for its Third Annual Entrepreneurial Challenge.
The event takes place at the University Center on the UNC campus on Thursday, March 8 and is free and open to the public.
Five finalists are competing for $36,000 in prize money. Each finalist will present a business plan, followed by Q&A by the judges in a “Shark Tank” format.
The audience will also be given the opportunity to ask questions. The presentation schedule is:
12 p.m.: Branch Out Cider, a craft cidery that produces apple-based wine from apple trees belonging to Northern Colorado residents.
1 p.m.: FirstLine Safety Inc., a manufacturing/sales/leasing firm that provides safety trailers equipped to protect users and the environment in the event of a job-site accident or hazardous materials incident.
2 p.m.: Bedside Solutions, a firm providing a disposable medical device that inexpensively and effectively delivers low flow oxygen therapy to patients.
3 p.m.: UNC Ride Away, a pedi-cab service serving the student population on the UNC campus.
4 p.m.: Lockers on Wheels, a mobile locker service providing individual storage for attendees of concerts, festivals and events to safely store their belongings.
After the presentations, the finalists and judges will travel to the Bravo! Entrepreneur Awards at the Union Colony Civic Center, where the winners will be announced. Bravo! is a Northern Colorado Business Report event that the Monfort College of Business is sponsoring. The event is now sold-out.
“This promises to be a very exciting day, filled with information, networking opportunities and the chance to observe entrepreneurs as they present their business plans,” said Monfort College of Business Assistant Professor of Management David Thomas.
