Moffat County commissioner states case over regulations in Washington

Moffat County commissioner John Kinkaid met with multiple federal agencies on Thursday to address concerns about new federal regulations facing the Western Slope county.

The Denver Post reports that Kinkaid made stops at the Office of Management and Budget, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. Residents and businesses in Moffat County are under pressure as a major coal mine there faces a major environmental assessment, the Craig power plant operated by Tri-State Generation and Transmission faces pollution rules, and the county deals with federal rules on preservation of the sage grouse.
