Micron Technology expanding space in Longmont

LONGMONT – Boise, Idaho-based memory-chip maker Micron Technology (Nasdaq: MU) is growing its operations in Longmont despite a turbulent stretch for the company that has seen its stock price fall by more than 50 percent since December.

Micron spokesman Daniel Francisco confirmed on Wednesday that the company recently signed a 10-year lease extension at its 1900 Pike Road facility, and also is expanding that facility “by roughly a third to accommodate for growth.”

Micron leased roughly 58,500 square feet at the site in 2012. Francisco declined to disclose how many employees the facility has now or how many would be added with the expansion.
