Memorial service for Coalfire co-founder Rick Dakin set for June 30

LOUISVILLE — A memorial service for Coalfire Systems Inc. co-founder Rick Dakin have been scheduled for 10 a.m. June 30 at The Gatehouse, 1055 S. 112th St., in Lafayette.

Dakin, 63, died Saturday while hiking with his family near Colorado Springs.

He had served as chief executive of the cyber-security firm since its founding in 2001. On Tuesday, the company named board chairman Larry Jones as Dakin’s successor.

Dakin’s family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Harambee Foundation, a charity co-founded by Dakin’s son Luke that raises money for orphanages in Kenya.
