Loveland’s Anthology Book Co. is closing

LOVELAND — Anthology Book Co. will close its doors on May 15 after 25 years in business.

“Bookselling is not the same business it was 10 years ago when my husband Mark and I purchase Anthology,” owner Stephanie Stauder said.

The advent of online bookselling and e-books has been responsible for the closure of many bookstores, both locally and nationally.

Stauder and her husband reinvested in the store last summer. In addition to books, Anthology offers a coffee shop and cafe.

“You can’t run a bookstore if you’re not selling books,” Stauder said in a press release Tuesday.

Anthology, located at 422 E. 4th St., will continue to honor trade credit and gift cards until its closing date, the release said.
