Longmont council to consider $2.05M for Butterball redevelopment

The Longmont City Council is slated to consider on Tuesday whether to contribute $2.05 million to the $66.5 million redevelopment of the former Butterball turkey plant downtown.

The Times-Call reports that the city’s piece of the proposed public-private partnership would include “$1.25 million for demolition and cleanup of the former Butterball buildings, up to $500,000 for a traffic signal and roadway and sidewalk improvements and $300,000 as the value of reallocating a water and sewer line.”

The new mixed-use development, dubbed South Main Station, is set to include about 300 apartment units, several thousand square feet of commercial and retail space, a craft brewery and office space.
