Longmont-based A-Tek Systems’ move will triple space

LONGMONT – A planned move in June will more than triple production space for Longmont-based A-Tek Systems Group LLC.

A-Tek, which makes assembly equipment for the surface-mount technology industry, will move in June from a 2,133-square-foot space at 1324 Sherman Drive to 6,631 square feet at 410 S. Sunset St. in the Longmont Technology Park. The new space, on the northeast corner of Sunset Street and Nelson Road, had been vacant for some time, according to an official at the Longmont Area Economic Council, which helped A-Tek find the space to expand.

Surface-mount technology is a method for producing electronic circuits in which the components are mounted or placed directly onto the surface of printed circuit boards.

A-Tek Systems Group, established in 2004, is the exclusive distribution partner for German-based Kolb Cleaning Technologies, providing both sales and support services for all Kolb products.

Patty Chonis, A-Tek’s president and chief executive, was unavailable for comment for this story.
