Local investors buy Boulder’s Zarlengo Plaza for $2.95M

BOULDER — The same group of investors that earlier this year purchased the Diagonal Plaza shopping center in Boulder closed this week on the $2.95 million purchase of Zarlengo Plaza at 29th Street and Valmont Road.

Wishbone LLC, an entity formed by local investor John Volkmar, bought the property at 2900 Valmont from the Zarlengo family, which developed the 14,439-square-foot strip mall in the 1970s. Lynda Gibbons, Michael-Ryan McCarty and Gregory Glass of Gibbons-White Inc. represented the seller in the deal, while Gibbons-White’s Angela Topel represented the buyers.

The Wishbone group, under the entity Big News LLC, paid $4.05 million for the Diagonal Plaza at 2850 Iris Ave. in February.

McCarty said Thursday that Wishbone LLC investors intend to continue leasing Zarlengo Plaza and don’t have any redevelopment plans for the site.

The shopping center currently has one vacancy of 1,220 square feet. Tenants there include DeliZone, Eagle Nails and a State Farm insurance office.
