Local investor John Volkmar pays $4M for Boulder’s Diagonal Plaza
Investor John Volkmar has closed on the $4.05 million purchase of the 27,450-square-foot Diagonal Plaza shopping center at 2850 Iris Ave. just days after the mall’s previous owner had filed a complaint in court seeking to evict an Indian restaurant for unpaid rent.
The Daily Camera reports Volkmar bought the property from its builder, Larry Burnett, under the entity Big News LLC. The indoor mall houses several businesses as well as the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Volkmar told the Camera that he has no current plans for a major redevelopment of the site and that he intends to spend some money on renovations.
