Lily Farm Fresh Skin Care aims for spring opening of new Weld County HQ

KEENESBURG – Henderson-based botanicals producer Lily Farm Fresh Skin Care is working through the approval process with Weld County on a new headquarters facility near Keenesburg that founder Lily Morgan hopes will become an agritourism destination.

Morgan said she’s hoping her project will get final approval at the Oct. 5 Weld County Board of Commissioners meeting. If that happens, she said construction would begin soon after, with the intent to be operational in time for planting season next spring.

Morgan owns 80 acres at the intersection of county roads 6 and 53, just across the road from the Wild Animal Sanctuary. That’s a big upgrade from the 15-acre farm near Henderson where her company operates now.

In addition to ample farmland on which to grow organic ingredients for Lily Farm Fresh’s skin-care products, the new location would include a 5,200-square-foot headquarters. That building would house a 2,000-square-foot event center for hosting weddings and other gatherings, a commercial kitchen, manufacturing and warehouse areas, and office space. A later phase would include a 1,000-square-foot spa area as well as six residential units for farm workers.

The land is zoned agricultural, and Morgan is applying for a use by special right for the event center and production facility.

Morgan said the cost of the project, including land, is projected at a little more than $1 million.

The new facility is a big upgrade from the 900 square feet in which the company operates now. Morgan is also excited about the prospect of no longer running her business where she resides. While she lives at Lily Farm Fresh’s current location, she owns another 160 acres in Weld County where she plans to move.

“I am so tired of living where I work,” Morgan said.

Having founded the company in 1986, Morgan touts her company as the longest-running organic skin-care company in the state. She declined to disclose revenue of the privately held company. She said the firm employs six people, but she expects that number to double upon full buildout of the new facility and launch of the events business.
