Larimer County residents petition against Berthoud annexation
A group of Larimer County residents has submitted a petition to the city of Berthoud in an attempt to force a vote on the city’s approval of a 76-acre annexation north of town.
The Reporter-Herald reports that the county residents are upset that commercial and multi-family housing development proposed for the site doesn’t fit in with the surrounding area. The city, in January, approved the Heron Pointe annexation, which sits along the south side of Larimer County Road 14.
If the petition is validated, the county residents would not be able to vote on the annexation, and had to gather signatures for the petition from Berthoud residents.
