Lake Vista community achieves LEED certification

Lake Vista, a residential community in the Centerra development, has achieved the first LEED for Homes certification in Northern Colorado.

The Lake Vista community is located on the east side of Equalizer Lake at 2235 Rocky Mountain Avenue in Loveland and was completed in 2011. Lake Vista obtained LEED Silver certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Homes Provider, EnergyLogic.

This is the first LEED for Homes certification in Northern Colorado, according to McWhinney, developer of Centerra.

The community was constructed with an emphasis on residential health, comfort, productivity and preserving the surrounding natural environment. Equalizer Lake is part of a 275-acre environmental preserve.
