Investor group buys Mountain Aviation Inc.

BROOMFIELD — A group of investors has acquired Mountain Aviation Inc., an aircraft-management and private-jet charter company based in Broomfield.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mountain Aviation, based at The Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, was founded in 1993 by Rich Bjelkevig, who will continue to serve as the company’s president.

The company operates jet aircraft, each privately owned by people or businesses. The company performs maintenance and upkeep on the aircraft, and when an owner isn’t using a jet, Mountain Aviation is certified to charter it to the general public.

Cam Kenyon, previously executive vice president of operations at WestJet Airlines in Calgary and president of Lynx Aviation in Denver, has been appointed as the company’s executive director.

The company will continue to focus on its existing Rocky Mountain Region aviation clients and will seek to expand aviation services to the oil and gas industry, and government services markets, according to the prepared statement.

Mountain Aviation has bases in Denver, Eagle/Vail, Aspen, Fort Collins, Telluride as well as Boise and Sun Valley, Idaho.

It operates a fleet of Gulfstream, Bombardier/Lear Jet, Hawker, King Air, Piaggio, Pilatus, Citation Jet and turbo-prop aircraft available for charter.
