HUD awards $10 million to Colorado housing authorities

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded housing authorities in Colorado $10 million to make large-scale improvements to their public housing units.

Housing authorities in Northern Colorado received $441,701. The bulk of that money went to the Fort Collins Housing Authority, which received $188,756, and the Housing Authority of the City of Greeley, which received $112,287.

The grants were funded through HUD’s Capital Fund Program, which provides funding annually to public housing authorities to make alterations such as replacing plumbing and electrical systems.
