The recall products bear the number “EST 6273” or “P-6273” inside the USDA “Mark of Inspection.” The products were sold nationwide to distributors, restaurants, and over the Internet.
The problem was discovered during a Food Safety Assessment. House of Smoke mistakenly believed the releasing agent was a processing aid that did not need to be declared on the label, the food safety agency said.
The food safety agency and the company have received no reports of problems related to the products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a health care provider.
A House of Smoke representative did not immediately return a phone message requesting comment.
