House Dems advance bill to extend Colorado Pay Equity Commission

A Colorado state House committee on Thursday forwarded a bill that would reinstate a commission that monitored pay inequity between men and women, the Denver Business Journal reports.

The Senate Business, Labor and Technology Committee earlier this month voted to halt the Pay Equity Commission effective July 1. But House Democrat Jessie Danielson of Wheat Ridge has sponsored House Bill 133 to extend the bill.

The House Business Affairs and Labor Committee voted 7-6 along party lines to move the bill on to the House Appropriations Committee.
