Homebuilder has 115 acres under contract in Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS — Greenwood Village-based Century Communities Homes has 115 acres of land under contract at the northwest corner of Interstate 25 and Prospect Road in Fort Collins where it wants to build single-family detached homes and attached town homes on 396 lots.

The project, called Gateway at Prospect, would include parks and amenities, said Mike Cooper, a spokesman for Century Communities.

The land is owned by Fort Collins/I-25 Interchange Corner LLC, and entity formed in 2013 by Contrarian Investors LLC of Colorado Springs, according to public records.

Cooper said Century Communities is in its due diligence stage on the purchase of the property and submitted a conceptual review application to receive feedback from the city. “There are no formal plans drawn up for the residential development at this point,” he said. He said the residential development would be buffered from I-25 with commercial properties.

Century Communities, founded in 2002, builds single-family homes, town homes and flats in select metropolitan markets in Colorado, Texas and Nevada. It has built homes in Windsor, Longmont, Broomfield, Denver, Colorado Springs, Aurora, Arvada, Centennial, Firestone, Thornton and Westminster.
