Greeley Stampede hires new GM
Anthea Dreisbach brings knowledge of non-profit and venue management, event production, sponsorship sales and marketing to the Greeley Stampede, the nonprofit said.
The Stampede began its search for a GM after years of having an executive director at the helm. The committee that runs the annual two-week summer event in Greeley fired Executive Director Bill Ogg in August. An agreement between the Stampede and Ogg prohibits either side from discussing the details of that separation.

Dreisbach began her career in Albuquerque working for EXPO New Mexico and the New Mexico State Fair as an event coordinator. She also was responsible for interim events that took place at the 236-acre EXPO New Mexico grounds, including horse shows, concerts, hockey games and outdoor festivals.
Dreisbach planned the annual New Mexico State Fair, a 17-day event in September, as a venue manager. The year-round process culminated in an eight-performance Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo and concert series.
Dreisbach also served as sponsorship and promotions director where she managed a partnership program comprised of more than $2 million in cash and in-kind sponsorships.
During the past five years, Dreisbach worked as CEO and president for the United Way of Southwest New Mexico, which operated in five counties.
“Serving as the general manager of the Greeley Stampede is getting back to my roots both personally and professionally,´ said Dreisbach. “I can’t wait to get started.”
The 2013 Greeley Stampede is scheduled June 27-July 7. Dreisbach is expected to begin her new role as general manager on Jan. 2.
Ogg was hiring in the midst of a financial crisis for the Stampede. He was credited with helping put the event back on track, though his management style reportedly created tension within the organization.
