Greeley, Frederick companies honored with construction awards

FCI Constructors Inc. in Frederick and Greeley-based construction firms Roche Constructors and Hensel Phelps were honored with 2016 Excellence In Construction Awards by the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors Inc.

The awards program provides ABC member general contractors and specialty contractors the forum to showcase their projects that are the premier representation of their work. Any project completed within the last two years by an ABC member in good standing was eligible.

Criteria included factors such as complexity, unusual challenges or problems overcome, innovative techniques or programs, value-engineering, safety records, and owner satisfaction.

Hensel Phelps took second place in the $10 million to $25 million health-care category with the Federico F. Peña Southwest Family Health Center and Urgent Care project.

In all, 24 awards were presented Oct. 21 in Denver.
