Greeley, Fort Collins separating reservoir expansion projects
GREELEY – The cities of Greeley and Fort Collins announced that they’ve mutually agreed, along with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to separate the permitting processes for the proposed enlargement of a pair of reservoirs.
Fort Collins is proposing the enlargement of the Halligan Reservoir, while Greeley aims to enlarge the Milton Seaman Reservoir. Both lie northwest of Fort Collins.
A statement from the city of Greeley said the separation would benefit both projects. They’ll be evaluated respectively by the Corps of Engineers as the Halligan Water Supply Project Environmental Impact Statement and the Seaman Water Supply Project EIS, allowing the processes to proceed at a pace appropriate to each.
