Globalstar hires Level 3 to upgrade network services

BROOMFIELD — Telecommunications firm Level 3 Communications Inc. (NYSE: LVLT) in Broomfield has signed a deal to upgrade a network that connects Globalstar’s ground stations across the globe.

Globalstar (NYSE :GSAT) is a provider of mobile satellite voice and data services based in Covington. La.

Globalstar is upgrading its global backbone infrastructure and has plans to deploy its “second generation” network in 2015.

Level 3 serves customers in more than 60 countries. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
