Georgia developer reviving Broomfield apartment project

BROOMFIELD — An out-of-state real estate developer is reviving a stalled project to build the Summit Green Apartments, a multifamily housing project in the MidCities area of Broomfield.

Stockbridge, Ga.-based Davis Development Inc. has submitted revised plans for apartments and townhomes on 7.3 acres of land on the north side of Summit Boulevard and approximately one block south of the intersection of Coalton Road and Summit Boulevard.

The new plans call for 184 apartment units in two, five-story buildings; a row of 14 three-story townhomes with attached garages that will be rented; and a three-quarter-acre public park, according to documents submitted to the city and county of Broomfield’s planning department. Construction costs are estimated at $16 million.

Amenities include a clubhouse, fines room, game/lounge space, business center, swimming pool, Jacuzzi and fire pit.

A site development plan for 200 apartments was approved in 2013, but the project was never constructed. This new plan takes its place.

Davis Development’s affiliate TX Morrow Construction Inc. based in Houston will build the project. The Davis group developed the Atria Arista Apartments in Broomfield in 2014.

The MidCities area is a combination of hotels, businesses, restaurants and housing. This project will bring the number of residential units in the area to 1,999.
