Georgia developer breaks ground on apartments at Arista

BROOMFIELD — Stockbridge, Ga.-based Davis Development announced Wednesday it has broken ground on a $40 million 240-unit luxury apartment complex at Arista Broomfield, a mixed-use neighborhood at the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 36 and Wadsworth Boulevard.

Atria Arista will consist of four buildings on eight acres with mostly two- and three-bedroom apartments with attached garages. It also will have a clubhouse.

“We looked at the Denver area long and hard to see where the best place was for us to establish roots. In the end, we selected Arista for its urban feel and its location along the U.S. 36 corridor” Fred Hazel, director of development for Davis, said in a prepared statement.

Arista Broomfield is a 200-acre transit-oriented mixed-use development anchored by the 1stBank Center with houses, apartments, parks, retail shops, offices and a hotel.

Residential communities include KB Home, Arista Uptown Apartments, AMLI Residential, Century Communities and now, Davis Development, which rounds out the residential portion of the project.

Tim Wiens, developer of Arista Broomfield, said the additional density provided by the new apartment complex paves the way for remaining commercial and retail aspects of the project.

“It will be exciting for these new residents to take the new bus rapid transit system to Boulder, Union Station or the Denver International Airport, fully utilizing the transit aspect of this development,” he said in a prepared statement.

The anticipated completion of Atria Arista is the second quarter of 2016.

Davis Development’s sister company Morrow Construction constructs and manages upscale apartment communities throughout the Southeast, Midwest and Southwest regions of the United States.
