Fort Collins restaurant pulls Bud after Super Bowl ‘macro beer’ ad

The owner of Matador Mexican Grill in Fort Collins has decided to stop selling Budweiser products, including brands like Corona, after a Super Bowl ad that poked fun at craft beer.

The Coloradoan reports that Paul Michaelson said he plans to be selling only craft beer and MillerCoors products by the end of the week. He told the paper that he was supporting craft brewers with the move.

The Super Bowl ad referred to Budweiser as a “macro beer,” and proclaimed that, “The people who drink our beer are people who like to drink beer.”
