Fort Collins-Loveland No. 1 for Peace Corps volunteers

The Fort Collins-Loveland area was the leading producer of Peace Corps volunteers per capita in 2012 with 14.7 per 100,000 residents.

The area ousted 2010 and 2011 leader Missoula, Mont., according to the Peace Corps.

Colorado ranked No. 6 on the list of volunteer-producing states per capita with 5.4 per 100,000 residents. Overall, Colorado ranked No. 11, with 272 volunteers serving in the Peace Corps.
“The Peace Corps has a strong network of supporters in Colorado, especially within the state colleges and universities,´ said Mike McKay, Southwest Regional Manager.

Last year, according to McKay, CSU ranked with other Colorado universities among the top schools supporting the Peace Corps.
