Fort Collins’ first craft brewery getting revived in Wellington
Fort Collins’ first craft brewery, shuttered since 2002, is making a comeback. But this time it’s opening in Wellington.
The Coloradoan reports that Brandon and Tara Neckel are reviving Old Colorado Brewing in Wellington’s old grain elevator at 8121 W. First St. The brewery will be the first for the small, but fast-growing town.
Brandon Neckel’s grandfather Joe and father Joe Jr. ran the original Old Colorado Brewing, which opened in 1989. After closing in 1991, the brewery reopened two years later in the Casa de Colorado restaurant. The new version is slated to open by May.
