Fort Collins dance school owners want to buy, convert former print shop

FORT COLLINS — The owners of the Henry-Stashak Academy of Dance and Innovation have presented plans to the city of Fort Collins to renovate a former printing shop into a preschool and dance studio on S. Mason Street.

Jillian Stashak and Mallory Henry have submitted conceptual plans to renovate a vacant 3,600-square-foot building at 4221 S. Mason St. that previously housed Minuteman Press of Fort Collins.

Stashak said on Friday that they will meet with city planners on Monday, April 20, to hear their reaction to the plans.

Ways to thank a caregiver

If you have a caregiver or know someone who has been serving as a primary caregiver, March 3rd is the day to reach out and show them how much they are valued!

“If what we hear is favorable, we will move forward with trying to buy the building and get started on renovations,” Stashak said.  The building is owned by North Colorado Printers LLC, doing business as Minuteman Press.

Stashak and Mallory want to create a preschool that can accommodate 12 to 15 students and a dance studio where they can conduct classes. They currently operate their dance academy in a leased space at 4103 S. Mason St. on the second level of a building that also that houses Northern Colorado Elite, a cheerleading and gymnastics school.

Their proposal for the former printing building calls for adding windows to the rear of the building and removing six parking spaces behind the building to create a fenced outdoor space with grass, garden and a picnic table.
