Former Mocavo exec raising funds for new undertaking
BOULDER — Startup Revve Inc. in Boulder has raised $6 million in equity financing, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
But Cliff Shaw of Boulder, president of Revve, said Thursday that the amount raised was only $600,000, saying the filing is incorrect. Shaw declined to say what Revve does or how the money will be used. The company was formed in June, according to Secretary of State documents.
Shaw founded Mocavo Inc. in 2011, a genealogy software firm that was acquired by London-based historical records company Findmypast in July for an undisclosed amount, according to one of Shaw’s blogs. Mocavo now is a fully-owned subsidiary of Findmypast.
