Foothills Mall apartment complex subject of Monday neighborhood meeting

FORT COLLINS — The city of Fort Collins will conduct a neighborhood meeting next week to discuss plans for a 402-unit apartment complex that is part of the Foothills Mall redevelopment being led by Alberta Development Partners.

The meeting will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5, in the Commons Room of Boltz Middle School, 720 Boltz Drive.

The proposed project by Loveland-based developer McWhinney Real Estate Services Inc., consists of a multifamily apartment complex containing 402 units divided among 18 buildings on a 12-acre site. Originally, developers had been approved for 800 units on the 12 acres, but proposed a 256-unit apartment complex on nine acres.

The 12-acre site is within the boundary of the Foothills Mall on the west side of Stanford Road, east of Macy’s and extends as far south as the Foothills Mall southern boundary.

Of the 18 buildings, 16 are three stories, and two buildings along Stanford Road at the southern end of the site are proposed to be four stories. About 500 parking spaces are proposed.

After the neighborhood meeting, the project is subject to review and consideration by the Planning and Zoning Board at a future public hearing with the date to be determined.
