First of High Park Fire survivors OK’d to return to rebuilt homes
The Larimer County Planning and Building Services department issued a Certificate of Occupancy to Donna and Ira Baker. The couple’s home was one of 259 residences destroyed in the fire six months ago.
The Baker’s permit allows them to move into their newly reconstructed home on Davis Ranch Road in Rist Canyon. The Baker’s was the first permit issued to re-build. To date, 29 building permits have been issued by the county for replacement homes in the High Park Fire burn area. These 29 permits represent about 15 percent of the homes lost.
