BROOMFIELD – Famous Brands, parent to TCBY and Mrs. Fields Cookies chains, has partnered with Dubai-based The Luxury Gourmet Sweets and Candies to develop 24 dual branded locations of TCBY and Mrs. Fields Cookies throughout the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The projects are located in some of the world’s largest commercial hubs, which include the Dubai Mall, The Mall of the Emirates and the Dubai International Airport.
The company expects to open at least four locations in these areas this year.

In addition, the company has partnered with The Gulf Cooperation Council (The GCC) to open locations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq.
The GCC is a political and economic alliance of six Middle Eastern countries, which includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
“We continue to enhance Famous Brands’ established presence in the Middle East, in addition to leveraging strategic partnerships in the UAE to showcase our brands in front of a global audience,” said David Bloom, COO of Famous Brands International, in a statement.
“I look forward to the new partnerships and growth prospects related to the launch of Mrs. Fields Cookies and TCBY in the UAE,” he said.
The company has also signed recent agreements to develop international franchise locations in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam.
With international sales up 10 percent system-wide, Famous Brands expects to open more than 30 international locations in 2014.
