Event offers preview of 2015 Legislature

DENVER – With many new faces in the state Legislature including a change of party control in the Senate, the 2015 session is cause for much speculation in Colorado’s business community. An event to be held two days before the General Assembly is to convene may provide some clues about what lies ahead.

The second annual Business Legislative Preview, hosted by the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and Colorado Competitive Council, will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 5 in the ballroom of the Brown Palace Hotel, 321 17th St., Denver.

The event may be of special interest to businesses in the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado, because the leaders of the new state House of Representatives are from the northern Front Range; Democrat Dickey Lee Hullinghorst of Gunbarrel is House speaker, and Republican Brian Del Grosso of Loveland is House minority leader. Both will be on hand to discuss their priorities for the upcoming session, as will Senate President Bill Cadman, R-Colorado Springs, and Senate Minority Leader Morgan Carroll, D-Aurora.
